Debra Goei
Co-President
Debra joined DAP after graduating from UBC with a degree in Philosophy. She hopes to combine her intrinsic understanding in the way things work, with a structured knowledge of reporting and accounting. Debra currently works at Bench and enjoys the fast pace and constant change it affords her as an adaptor. Besides hitting the tennis courts in Summer for rounds with friends, she enjoys a deep red wine and country music as her guilty pleasure.
Lyla Huang
Co-President
Growing up in a family of tax accountants, Lyla has always had a keen interest in tax. Prior to DAP, she was fortunate to receive one of the largest scholarships to pursue a MA in Asian Studies at UBC. She has experience working in translation consulting and financial services. As the Co-President, Lyla hopes to connect students to various career opportunities. During her free time, she enjoys kayaking, playing board games, and spending time with her two beloved cats.
Roy Yang
Public Relations Vice-President
Roy joins DAP as the PRVP for 2017/18 with a B.Sc. (with co-op) in the Combined Major in Science program. As the Public Relations VP, he aims to enhance the DAP student experience and bridge DAP students to industry. He brings forward IT solutions to enhance customer experience. He enjoys hiking, photography and gaming.
Selina Ma
Treasurer
Selina is an approachable and success-driven finance professional with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UVic. As the treasurer, she works closely with the presidents and sponsorship & event officers, oversees the budget and manages financial activities of the Club. She’s a food lover, west coast hiker, and an amateur CrossFitter.
Helen Fu
CPA Designation
As the Public Practice Officer, Helen liaises with CPABC, the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia, to answer firm-related inquiries from fellow DAP students. She strongly believes that success is dependent on mutual support and on paying kindness forward. In her spare time, she enjoys working on fundraising projects for the local community, penning stories with fellow writers, and playing the piano – all in the company of her cat.
Jenny Tao
Industry Officer
Jenny joined DAP in Jan 2017 with a Bachelor of Commerce - Finance degree. She currently works for TELUS as a Financial Analyst. As the Industry Officer, Jenny hopes to showcase to you what the industry path is all about. Besides working and studying, you will find her eating, sleeping, and posting silly dubsmash videos on her instagram.
Amanda Fu
Sponsorship Officer
Amanda joined DAP in September 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts from UBC. As a sponsorship officer, she is excited to collaborate with the rest of the members and the DAP Club sponsors in order to facilitate another successful year for students. Amanda has had the opportunity to work in the corporate accounting field, allowing her to gain valuable knowledge and experience. Besides working and attending school, Amanda enjoys spending time with family and travelling.
Jason Lee
Sponsorship Officer
After having realized he did not meet the height requirement to play in the NBA, Jason decided it was time for a career change. Jason looks to combine his degree in sociology with accounting to better understand individuals and create an environment optimal for business success. His passions revolve around mentorship and teamwork, which include sports and making music. Jason joins DAP as a sponsorship officer and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with sponsors and bring funding to the club.
Oliver Su
Sponsorship Officer
Oliver is a Ph.D. graduate in Molecular Medicine from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. As one of the sponsorship officers, he is looking forward to working with the rest of the team to secure sponsorship for the DAP club this year. He is excited for the opportunity to create new connections with firm representatives and positively contribute to this year’s DAP experience. Outside of school, he loves to play sports and explore BC with friends.
Tina Ma
Sponsorship Officer
Tina joined DAP in September 2016 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. As a sponsorship officer, she is excited to work closely with the club’s sponsors and establish meaningful connections between students and firms. She is passionate about volunteering and strongly believes that learning occurs even upon doing the simplest tasks. In her spare time, she enjoys playing badminton, exploring BC, and trying new cuisines. Desserts are her Achilles’ heel!
Aaron Kang
Events Coordinator
Aaron joined DAP after graduating from the University of Victoria with a degree in Economics. As an events coordinator he is looking forward to helping organize the summer networking events while meeting new people within the program. In his spare time Aaron enjoys playing sports, spending time with friends and family, and keeping up to date with his Vancouver Canucks.
Cindy Zhang
Events Coordinator
Cindy joined DAP in September 2016 with a B.A., Economics/Minor in Commerce. As part of the Events team, she is excited to work alongside her teammates in coordinating some of DAP’s largest events. A full-time administrative assistant, DAP student, and ongoing UBC Alumni volunteer, Cindy enjoys the hustle. However, that doesn’t stop her from doing what she loves, dancing, learning new choreographies weekly. Also a self-acclaimed “foodie”, Cindy’s always looking for her next food adventure!
Maria Qiu
Events Coordinator
Maria graduated from Queen's University in 2015 and moved back to Vancouver because west coast best coast. She joined the DAP program in January 2017 to be able to attend all the cool networking events with free drinks and food. When Maria isn't at work, in school, or organizing cool events for you guys, she can be found hiking in the mountains, eating, or playing volleyball. If you see her, please say hi!
Steven Chou
Events Coordinator
Steven joins DAP with an H.B.Sc. double major in Psychology and Criminology & Socio-Legal Studies from the University of Toronto. As one of the Events Coordinators, he looks forward to making positive contributions through organizing and coordinating exciting events with the rest of the team. He is a big tennis fanatic, an avid hiker, and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of food. Catch him dining out in Vancouver’s food scene!
